Puffins

In Puffins, we are very lucky to have a fantastic team of teachers, Mrs Wraith (Red Puffins), Mrs Smith and Mrs Mears (Blue Puffins). We also have a brilliant team of Teaching Assistants, Mrs Keetley and Mrs Gent. The adults are always working hard to ensure the environment engages the children and actively challenges their thinking. We ensure children are always happy, safe and confident learners.

We may be the youngest children in school but we are always very busy discovering, learning, playing and exploring in our fantastic classroom. In Puffins, children are encouraged to become motivated learners by engaging with other children and the environment around them.

We are very lucky in Puffins to have a free-flow classroom which is both indoors and outdoors. This year we are excited to have a brand new outdoor area! The whole classroom is separated into different areas to support our learning such as; reading, writing, maths, sand, a growing area, a mud kitchen and a muddy area, role-play, a large construction area with crates, tyres, steering wheels, wooden planks, a craft and art area, an exploration area with lots of rocks and logs where we like hunting for mini-beasts, a large sand pit, many more exciting areas which develop and grow as the children do. We can choose to learn and discover inside or outside during the day. We are able to choose between the different activities provided by adults or by choosing our own resources to follow our own interests and ideas.

Mr Newbold teaches us PE twice a week. In our area there is climbing equipment, bikes and sports equipment available to us all the time but Mr Newbold teaches us more in-depth physical development.
